ACCA Advanced Audit and Assurance
Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA) is one of four optional papers at the ACCA Strategic Professional level. It builds on the knowledge gained in Audit and Assurance (AA), developing students' ability to apply professional judgement to complex audit and assurance scenarios.
The paper covers the regulatory environment for audit, professional and ethical considerations including independence and quality management, planning and conducting audits of historical financial information, complex evidence gathering and evaluation, and completion and reporting including modified audit opinions.
AAA also covers other assignments including assurance services, specific assignments such as due diligence and prospective financial information, the audit of sustainability information, and current issues and developments in the audit profession.
AAA is the paper of choice for students pursuing careers in external audit, internal audit, and assurance services. It prepares you for senior positions such as Audit Manager, Audit Director, Head of Internal Audit, and Partner in audit practices.

Computer-Based Exam (CBE)
Structure
AAA is a 3 hour 15 minute computer-based exam (CBE) with two sections. Section A: one compulsory case-study question worth 50 marks (40 technical marks + 10 professional skills marks), broken down into several requirements. Section B: two compulsory questions worth 25 marks each (20 technical + 5 professional skills marks per question). Total 100 marks; 4 exam sessions per year; 50% pass mark.
